Founded in 1998, USA Datanet is a leading provider of IP-enabled voice, Internet access and enhanced communications services for commercial, carrier and residential customers. From the start, USA Datanet focused on developing a software-based IP network and platform for deploying enhanced communications services with the potential to alter virtually all segments of the telecommunications industry.

Recognizing that the adoption of IP technology and the development of enhanced applications would progress gradually at first, the company designed a highly scalable IP network that would immediately support the delivery of traditional voice and data services, while building in the capability and flexibility to add innovative new applications and enhanced services as demand for these services materialized.

USA Datanet is focused on leveraging this IP network and expertise to expand product and service offerings to the commercial and carrier markets. With the launch of Hosted IP Communication Service for business, USA Datanet has introduced another innovative communications service that will provide features and functionality previously out of reach for most small and medium sized businesses.

In October 2006, USA Datanet completed the acquisition of Matrix Communications Group, a leading provider of business phone systems, voice and data network installations, structured wiring system design and other telephone products and systems. Matrix, headquartered in Syracuse with additional offices in Albany and Rochester, has been in business for over 20 years and serves more than 2,500 business customers across New York State.

The addition of Matrix is consistent with USA Datanet’s plan to increase its geographic reach, product depth, and operational capabilities for introducing commercial products and services to new markets; and allows for Matrix customers to have immediate access to USA Datanet commercial services such as Hosted IP Communication Service, IP Trunking, and Conference Services.
